What the problem?
After reading the Childrens Technology Report review for this app I was excited to see that another Eric Carle product had been released with such glowing praise. I confess that after trying the app for myself Im a little disappointed, not because the content is poor but because the UI and UX experience is frustrating and counterintuitive. The app manages to be overly simplistic in its button design and overly complex in its navigation, which is a weird duality that does not do much for the user when taking in the charm of Eric Carles excellent artwork. Why are there arrow buttons in addition to the 3d swipe functionality that this developer is known for? Why are some UI elements so completely integrated into the illustrations that you dont notice that theyre there (such as when youre earning ducks during the counting game), but others (like the page nav arrows and menu UI) are ostensibly bad, pixelated clip art? It is just weird to me to have so much taken care of with an app of this caliber, and then have some crucial elements be messy and overly complicated. Not what I expected. Hoping for a refinement update soon.
Not sure if there is an exact audience for this. Frustrating delays between sections and 3.5 year old gets bored with the long intros. Definitely not worth the $4.99 price tag, but has potential.
Cant even complete download. Tried five times and wont work. Give me my money back!!
I was very dissapointed in this app. The mini games were too complicated. I am a big Eric Carle fan so this was very dissapointing!
This app will want more money from you to unlock so your child can play. I paid the initial price, and now they want more money so my kid can actually play beyond the first page. So annoying. Also, I expected that you could read the actual book, but that isnt here. There is just some longer factual stuff that my son has no interest in
A total scam. Everything your kid will try to do will try to extort money from you. And thats after paying $4 for the app. A shameful piece of junk.
Trys to look like hungry caterpillar. Book nowhere to be found. Only crap themed mini games. Horrible. Waste of 5 bucks.
Barry and Emmit Oneill (the producers of this D minus effort) owe my son $5. Theres less than 10 minutes of content available before you have to buy more. Shameful.
I am so disappointed in this app!! I purchased it and 1. Not all the features work 2. You have to pay additional money on top of the $5.00 to have access to the entire app. My daughter was in tears because the main features are broke. A WASTE OF MONEY
After opening this app I actually had to go back to see if I had accidentally downloaded the free version instead of the paid version...thats how little of this app is accessible for the purchase price!! Its ridiculous!!! Do not waste your money!! I want to access more of the app for my autistic son who is obsessed with all things Eric Carle, but I refuse to give this company one more cent of my money!
Weve had this a while and it never interested my toddler but recently she got into the jigsaw puzzles. I dont love the graphics for iPad games although theyre great in the books.
Jehnna
My son loves the game, until it freezes which happens all the time now. Or the right fruit to solve a pattern isn’t there, I bought the Eric Carle bundle, and while the games seem like they’d be wonderful if they worked properly there is far to meaning technical flaws.
We love the ocean
Way high rated
I only like the puzzles because the puzzles help your kids get more accurate and you get to do it on different levels and it’s like a mind game and when you are on a low level you, it’s like you rank up to a higher level
